To anyone who is following my blog, I am truly sorry for my lack of posting. We have had a rough year and I pretty much lost of what it is that I was doing. I am still on the CT for Linda's Dream Designs, but no longer with Digital Embellishments. I have also decided that I will be downsizing my business by simply specializing in a few things rather than doing anything and everything.

My plan for the next couple of months is to get a new look on my blog as well as changing it to my business name. So I will be posting my CT layouts, freebies and business samples here as well. I am simply trying to simplify my life, I have 3 blogs and I feel like this is unnecessary. Nevermind being a headache. So if you see that my blog changes names, don't panic.

Ok so Anthony has been out of work for 6 months now. He went to school and took a course in Physical Therapy Aide and now he is on a hunt for a job. I am really excited for him and will be glad to get our lives back to normal. My only fear is that he won't be making the same money he was before. So I have been taking course to get my associates degree in graphic design and although I am not remotely close to completing the course yet, I have decided that it is time to go forth 110% with the business. I have a new website which I am hoping will be completed within the next couple of months, www.digitalcreationz.net. I will be getting my resellers license and will be able to print anything that I design for customers, rather than just sending the finished files for them to print themselves. I will eventually be offering a variety of personalized gifts as well as promotional items.
I am really excited about this and can't wait to get it all up and working. In the interim I will need to updating this blog, removing and adding blinkies and fun stuff, so stay tuned!!!

Sorry I have not posted to my blog in a while. Many things have happened in the past couple of months and I have been so busy. I am not going to bore anyone with the details as I could be writing for a year. I did however go back to school. I am taking online courses at Penn Foster. I am going for my Associates Degree in Graphic Design. So far it is going really well but I am not even half way through the first semester yet. My family is very demanding so going to school online is not as is easy as it appears.

Anyway a couple of weeks ago we had 97 degree weather here in Pennsylvania. For April that is way strange, but since then we have gone back to springy weather. Thank God. But we did have the sprinkler out for the girls, thought we were gonna be setting the pool up already.

During the last few weeks I made quite a few layouts that I have not added to the blog. This first one was from a color challenge that I entered in Cool Scraps Digital. I didn't win, LOL.

This one I created from the Collab kit from Cool Scraps Digital. All the designers participated and the entire kit is fantastic!!! I had no idea where to begin.

This next one is yet another challenge that I entered. It was a color challenge. I was trying to incorporate what I have learned so far about color in my classes. Although I love the layout, it was so far being the best out of the other entries. Winner has yet to be determined, but I am sure that I am not the winner. Will keep ya posted.

And Finally this is yet another challenge that I entered. It was a template challenge, used a kit called Bridal Twinkle and Sashes kit designed by Addies Designs. Again my rendition of the challenge was not the best but the winner has not been determined. Will keep ya posted on this one too, LOL. Oh and this is the first time I have posted my wedding pictures. No one but family has ever seen these pictures. I finally got a scanner to scan them in.

Lavendar Love

We were supposed to get about 8 inches of snow the day the girls went out to play. The way it was coming down, it looked like we were gonna get a foot, but then it just stopped. The storm was a dudd and Gabriella was really upset. So they went out to play anyway. Not mommy though, when temps are below 40 I stay IN-THE-HOUSE!!!!

This was a kit created by Linda's Dream Designs called Lavendar Love. It is absolutely gorgeous and lots of fun to play with.

Our Christmas Season

Hey all,

Well Christmas has come and gone already this year. It was so nice going through the season watching my Gabriella get so excited about Santa coming. This was her first year that she truly understood the whole thing. It was great calling up my MIL and pretending that she was Santa when Gabriella was bad, LOL. As exciting as the season was, was as horrible as it was for us. For many of you who don't know us, Anthony was laid off from his job on the Thursday before Christmas. The thing that sucked was that he had been with this company for 6 years, changed jobs to be a little closer to home, hated that job and went back to GOE after only 6 weeks. 12 weeks later they laid him off. We just don't understand why they took him back in the first place. Well once he startes collecting unemployment that will be a chapter in our lives closed and we just have to move on.

As bad as that stunk, we still had a great Christmas! Here is a layout of the girls during the season. Most of the pictures are from Christmas Day.

Since today is December 11 and I have yet to get my Christmas cards out, I decided today would be a good day to get the girls dressed in their Christmas dresses and take their pictures. Well right off the bat I was really upset because the dresses look like fancy potato sacks. Then Gionna's shoes wouldn't fit. It felt like I took a million pictures, Gabriella was ok, but she just wouldn't look at the camera. Gionna was horrible, she refused to sit next to Gabriella long enough for me to get 1 picture. She was crying and moving and trying to pull off her tights.

Well I finally had enough after an hour if not more of fighting with her. I told Gabriella to stand off to the side of the christmas tree.

Than I found the best picture of Gionna out of the 50.

Then I tubed Gionna and pasted her on the picture with Gabriella. This is the first time I have ever attempted combining pictures, and I think it came out pretty awesome. Now I have a fantastic picture to put on my Christmas Cards and my Family calendars.

For the second time I have won layout of the week at Cool Scraps Digital. I am so grateful to all the members who took the time out to choose my layout and vote on it. It was so cool winning the first one, but when I one the 2nd one I really felt like I must do a good job. Therefore I am so excited. I would also like to thank Angelique of Digital Embellishments for making these wonderful kits to work to be able to win the challenges. The one that I used this time is Turkey Day and it is so cute!!! Thank you Angelique and all the members of CSD!!!

Hello Christmas

In both of these layouts I used another Christmas kit designed by Linda's Dream Designs call "Hello Christmas". Also with both layouts I used templates designed by Lorri's Scraps and More. The first layout is my girls on Christmas morning of 2007. Looking back at these pictures the haven't changed a bit. It is so weird.
With the second layout I tried to use photos in the quadrants, but for some reason I could not get it to look right so I just enlarged this gorgeous tube. The kit can be found in any of Linda's stores and the templates can be found on Lorri's blog. Enjoy

Here is a layout that I made with Gabriella and her Nani. (Anthony's mother) These pictures were from her birthday weekend. We went to the zoo and we had a big party that weekend. The bird in the background is a black swan, they are gorgeous birds, just wish I would have gotten the picture while the bird wasn't cleaning itself.

Happy Sunday everyone!!! I am very excited to announce that I am now a Creative Team member for Enigmaz Dezinz. She is a fantastic up and coming designer. Using a Mask to frame your pictures

This is a quick and simple tutorial to use masks to frame your pictures or graphics. I learned this technique from A PSP Paradise group, although this tutorial is written in my own words and not meant to be a duplicate of the original lesson. Thank you to Kelly for the well written lesson!!!

I used PSP X2 for this tutorial, but it should work in any version.

Supplies you will need are Framed Mask of Choice and graphic or picture of choice.

Lets get started:

1. Open new image - size of your choice - mine will be 500x500.

2. Either flood fill with choice of color or copy and paste paper of choice.

3. Go to "Layers"

4. Load "Load/Save Mask"

5. "Load Mask from disk"

You will get a screen that looks like this.

Choose mask from drop down menu. Your chosen mask will appear in the box on the right. You can use the settings have set in the image.

You should have something that looks like this, obviously depends on what mask you are using.

Before moving on you want to go to your layers pallette and merge group.

6. Change your selection tool to the Magic Wand.

7. Click in the center of the frame. You will see the marching ants around the inner part of the mask.

8. If you are using a curvy mask like this you may notice that the marching ants are not up to the lines of the mask. If this is what is happening to you -- Go to Selections ~~ Modify ~~ Expand ~~ I chose 3 pixels for my frame, you do whatever works for your frame. Make sure that you can see the preview on your image, so that you can see where the marching ants are lined up.

9. Create a new Raster Layer. Make sure that you are on that layer.

10. Activate your picture or graphic and Edit ~~ Copy

11. Activate blank layer on your mask, making sure you still have the marching ants. Edit ~~ Paste into Selection.

Now you should have something that looks like this.

Now you can go to Selections ~~ Select none, to make the marching ants go away.

Ok so this was so not a good mask to use as an example, but you get the idea. This looks much nicer using a cleaner edged mask.

Now merge the 2 visible layers and save as a psp image for use later in a layout or jpg for keeping around as is. This is how mine came out.

Well even though I did not use the best mask, I hope that you were able to learn something from it. Enjoy!!!

Gabriella's First Day of School

On 9/3 was a big day for Gabriella since it was her first day away from mommy. She started pre-school today. She did better than I did. I couldn't help but to cry and all she said was "remember to bring the camera, mommy" LOL. She is so excited and can't wait to go back. I guess I should be happy about that.

My Rainbow

As you can see I am really far behind with my pictures. A couple of weeks ago, I saw the most amazing rainbow right in front of my house. I have never seen a rainbow so bright and so vivid before in my life. There was also a second one right next to it which I have never seen either.

Now that school is just around the corner and Gabriella will be going to school, I am hoping to have a little more time to start creating scrap kits and offering tags. Well at least that is my plan. I have been working on Layout from Templates. I never did, but they are still challenging. All of these layouts came from Lorri's Scraps and More.

These pictures are of my my 2 girl and my husband at the beach near my Mother-in-laws house in Massena, NY.

These are pictures taken at Boldt Castle in the 1000 Islands in New York. It was built in the 1800's by a millionaire for his wife. She died while it was still under construction. He stopped all construction on the castle and said that if his Queen couldn't live in it than no one could. We went in it and it is unbelievable. They say that 24 families of 6 could live in this castle comfortably.

These are the first 4 pictures I took of Anthony's grandmother at her 80th Surprise Birthday Party. She was so surprised, it was hysterical!!!

The group is called A PSP Paradise, it is a fantastic group if you want to learn different techniques and how to use effects. There is even a class on creating Scrap Kits and HTML's. Shaped Word Art

This is a very simple tutorial on making your phrases into shapes. Once you figure this out, you will always find a use for it.

This tutorial is made up in my own words, if it is duplicated in any way, it is strictly by coincidence.

For this tut you will need a tube and font of choice. I am creating this tutorial in PSP x2 but it should work in any version.

Let's get started:

~~Open a new image 500x500 transparent.
~~Flood fill white
~~Open your tube. If your tube has a background we need to crop it. Here's how:

*If your tube is on seperate layers, first you want to close the tubers watermark. In your layers pallete just click on the eye on the layer the water mark is on.

**If you want to keep the background, merge--visible
**Your layer pallete will look like this when you are done.

~~Go to your selection tool and make it a circle.

~~This is will be the hardest part of the tut. You have to position the cursor in just the right spot to make a circle around your image. You may want to go to View - Rulers. You can put your cursor at your 1/2 way point.

Ex. my image is 300x300, placing the cursor at 150 and 150 made a circle perfectly placed. You may not get that lucky, you may have to play with it for a bit before you get it just right.

~~Now Edit - Cut
~~Activate your blank image
~~Edit - Paste as new layer

**Depending on the size of your tube, you may want to resize at this point.

Now the fun part. Make sure you have your chosen your font and shrink.

~~Click on your preset shapes tool. Select circle and use these settings. The image is a little difficult to see. Set to circle - uncheck retain style - check create as vector layer - check Anti-alias - Width, 2 is fine

~~Go to your material pallete, set background to black and foreground, click the transparent button.

~~ Now draw your circle. It does not have to be perfect, because you can maneuver it around to fit your tube.

~~Go to your Layer Pallete and create a new Vector Layer.

~~Click on your text box.

~~Now hover your mouse over your circle, your A will have a curved line under it. When you see that curved line, click once. You will get your text box.

~~Type whatever it is you want that you want in your image. As you can see, your text is printing on your circle. Cool right?

~~Now you can highlight the text in your text box and change your font and your text color and size to the way that it is perfect for you.

**If you do not like the way that your text is positioned you can move it by turning it. Click and drag your little lever node and spin it. Your text will just follow the circle, so it will remain perfect the entire time. It will just spin it to a better location.

**As you can see I repositioned my circle cause I was not happy with where I had it placed originally.

**When you have everything perfect, Go to your layers pallete and close the layer with the circle. The circle will dissappear and you will only have words.

**Now you can play with it anyway that you want to. When you are done, Go to your layers pallete and close your white background, then merge-merge visible.

**I through a mask behind mine, and in the process messed up the font. Had already closed the program and couldn't remember which one I used. So my font has changed but this is my final product.

Easy Application for Mask - Part 2

~~Either open a new image and flood fill with favorite color or open paper or background of your choice.
~~Get to the point where you choose your mask. This time you are gonna check the Invert box.
~~This is what you will get.

~~Merge your layers and your done.
~~You can add a tube - resize till it fits perfectly.
~~You can choose font of your choice and add a name or phrase.

Easy Mask Application for PSP - Part 1

Here is my version of using a mask. I can't wait to see everyones version.

If you are anything like me, when you first started your packrathood (? LOL) you had no idea what to do with masks and deleted them all, then you saw what you can do with them, and even though you didn't know how to use them you snagged them all up. Now you have a huge folder full of masks just sitting around, well today that will all change.

Before we get started let me tell you how to install your masks. First download the file (if you choose to do so). In your document file, I am sure that you have figured out that you have a folder called My PSP Files. In this folder you will find a series of other folders. Scroll down and you will see a folder marked Masks. That folder is directly linked to your PSP so anything that you put in there you can open in psp. Since there are so many masks in my folder we are gonna put them in a different folder. Just create a new folder I have marked mine "masks2". Drag and drop your masks into this folder. Now pick a couple of masks that you would like to work with and just Drag and drop into your mask2 folder or just copy and paste. Now those masks are directly linked to your PSP.

Ok lets get started.

There are several different ways that you can use masks, today we are gonna do the basic applications. Once you get that down, the rest is a piece of cake. Part of the fun with masks is trying new things with them.

~~Open up your PSP
~~You can either open a new page, size of your choice or pick a paper or background of your choice. In this tut I used a paper. I resized it to 500 pixels.

~~Go to Layers - Load/Save Mask - Load Mask from Disk.

~You will see your mask drop down. Click on that and locate your mask. With this tutorial use something that is either round or square. Do not use the frames or images, they cannot be inverted to get the same effect that I am trying to point out in this tut. (There are several preset masks.) Double click on the mask of your choice.

~~Set to these settings. First we will work with the Inverted box unchecked.

~~Click on Load. This is the result that you will get.

~~One more step. Go to your Layer pallette. You will see that it looks a little funky over there.

~~Right click on any of the layers - Merge - Merge Group. Now it is all 1 piece.

That's it the mask it done. Now you can play with it and add an image to it.
~~Choose a tube or photo of your choice.
~~Resize the tube until it fits into the mask frame.
~~Now your tube layer will be sitting on top of your mask layer, looks ugly right?
~~Go to your Layers pallete, Click on your Raster 2 layer, which should be highlighted, and drag it down below your Raster 1 layer.

~~Waaaa Laaaa now your tube is behind your mask and it looks purty.

I will be using this blog for my layouts, tags and tutorials that I have made. This is my second attempt at a blog so hopefully I will get it right this time LOL.
